Correspondent | November 30, 1999 Two emergency community gatherings will take place Thursday evening, Jan. 8 to express solidarity with Israel during the Gaza crisis. Gatherings will include prayers for peace, a briefing on the Gaza situation and information about ways to support Israel. In San Francisco, a solidarity gathering will begin 5:30 p.m. at Congregation Sherith Israel, 2266 California St. At 6:30 p.m., workshops offered by the Jewish Study Network and Jewish Community High School of the Bay will address the power of prayer in an emergency, and other topics. For more information, contact [email protected]. On the Peninsula, a gathering will begin 7:30 p.m. at Congregation Beth Am, 26792 Arastradero Road in Los Altos Hills.
