Peace-building camp seeks young women Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | March 31, 2006 The Denver-based nonprofit Seeking Common Ground is accepting applications for its flagship program, Building Bridges for Peace. Now in its 13th year, Building Bridges for Peace brings together Israeli, Palestinian and American young women, ages 16 to 19, for a yearlong leadership development and peace-building initiative. It begins with a two-week intensive summer program in Colorado from July 28 to Aug. 13. Each year SCG selects young women from Jewish, Christian, Muslim and other faiths and from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds to participate. Participants are asked to confront their own cultural biases and encouraged to develop skills to communicate with the “other” and learn to see themselves as active agents in creating more peaceful societies. Participants also commit to being involved in the yearlong follow-up program. For information contact Erin Breeze at (303) 691-2393 or [email protected], or visit www.s-c-g.org. J.
