Jewish-American swimmer Dara Torres won two more silver medals in Beijing.

Torres, 41, won the medals Aug. 17 in the 50-meter freestyle and the 4×100-meter medley relay — giving her three silvers for the Summer Games. She lost the 50-meter freestyle by .01 of a second.

Two more Jewish-American swimmers, Jason Lezak and Garrett Weber-Gale, each added a second gold medal. Lezak joined Michael Phelps and two teammates to win the 4×100-meter medley relay final. Weber-Gale competed in the heat that led to the final.

Lezak, of Irvine, also won a bronze medal in the 100-meter freestyle. He anchored both teams that won relay golds, helping setting a world record each time. — jta
