Jason Fox

Much loved son of Bernie (Susan) Fox and Sophie Fox, passed away in Redwood City, California, December 18, 2008. Jason was born May 19, 1969, in Redwood City. He attended Clifford School and graduated from Sequoia High School. He was the loving uncle of Adam and Alex deMonet and Emma Fox. He is survived by his sisters Sharon deMonet, Julie Ann Fox and brother Robert Fox (Kirsten). Contributions may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank.

Max Kaufmann

Beloved husband of Lila, father of Stuart, Larry and Pam, grandfather of Ascher, Talia and Elan, and brother of Josef, Siegfried and Else, of blessed memory. Died Jan. 13 at age 83 after an arduous battle with emphysema. Funeral and shiva were held in N.J. A refugee from Nazi Germany, Max dedicated his life to providing testament to the Holocaust, pursuing justice, and engaging in quiet philanthropy. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors or Foundation Fighting Blindness. May his memory be for a blessing.

Ruth Saffrin

Passed away January 15, 2009 in San Francisco, formerly of Rochester, NY.  Preceded in death by husband, Harry and brothers, Benjamin & Sam Morrow. Survived by daughter, Abby (Melvin) Margolis; son, Victor (Bunny) Saffrin; brother, Hyman Morrow; sister, Florence (Murray) Teris; 6 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Janet Morrow and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services and interment were held in Rochester, NY on January 18, 2009. Contributions are preferred to Na’Amat USA c/o Evelyn Scull, 85 Carverdale Road, Rochester, NY 14618.
