Correspondent | July 31, 2009 Camp Tawonga will open its campgrounds near Yosemite to mourners of all ages and backgrounds for Grief and Growing, a healing weekend in a Jewish environment Sept. 11 to 13. The professionally guided bereavement retreat is for both Jewish and non-Jewish adults, children, teens, extended families and friends who are experiencing grief from recent or past deaths in their lives. The weekend is designed to help attendees cope with their losses and identify tools to assist them in their mourning period. Cost is $295 for each participant, $120 for children under 3. Grief and Growing is co-sponsored by the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center, the Bureau of Jewish Education, Sinai Memorial Chapel and Camp Tawonga.
