News Hezbollah network can air in Australia Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | August 7, 2009 After being banned on two occasions, a Hezbollah-sponsored TV network, Al-Manar TV, has been granted permission to broadcast in Australia. Dr. Colin Rubenstein, executive director of the Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council, said the decision last week by the Australian Communications and Media Authority that Al-Manar TV did not violate government anti-terror laws was “regrettable if unsurprising.” He added, “Al-Manar is banned in France, Germany, Spain and the United States. It should also be banned in Australia.” Robert Goot, the president of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, said the Lebanese-based TV network spouts virulent anti-Semitism. Al-Manar was banned by the United States in 2004. J. Correspondent Also On J.
