News Israeli lawyer sues Swedish paper over organ story Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | September 4, 2009 An Israeli lawyer has sued a Swedish newspaper over its report on allegations that Israel harvested organs from Palestinian prisoners. Attorney Guy Ophir filed a $7.5 million libel suit in New York on Sept. 1 against Aftonbladet, the Swedish tabloid that published the report Aug. 17. Ophir said the article’s allegations were anti-Semitic and amounted to a “racist blood libel” against Jews. “It’s something Goebbels would have written,” Ophir told the Jerusalem Post. Ophir said he would donate any funds won through the lawsuit to charity, including the Israel Defense Forces. — jta J. Correspondent Also On J.
