Benefit bed race pushed into April Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | September 25, 2009 The first-ever Bed Race for the Future has been postponed until April 17, according to Gary Weiner, one of the event organizers. Benefiting the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame of Northern California and the NFL Alumni Caring for Kids, the race was to take place Sept. 26 at Marina Middle School in San Francisco. While several local companies, organizations and universities have signed on to field teams of six (four pushers, one rider and an alternate), Weiner said he needed more time to capitalize on the involvement of KGO radio. The station was slated to present at the race and also enter a couple of teams, spearheaded by talk show hosts Ronn Owens and Gil Gross. For information and registration, call (408) 374-1600. J.
