U.K. labor unions OK Israeli boycott Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | September 25, 2009 British labor unions are supporting a boycott of some Israeli goods in response to the offensive in Gaza. The boycott, approved at the annual conference of the Trades Union Congress on Sept. 17, calls for a ban on importing goods produced in some Israeli settlements, an end to arms trading with Israel and divestment from some companies. The organization, which represents 58 British labor unions or about 6.5 million workers, said the boycott would target products including dates, herbs, fruits and vegetables grown in Israeli settlements in the West Bank. — ap J.
