Vote for your favorite Jewish nonprofit

Do you know of a Jewish nonprofit worthy of some recognition?

A new contest sponsored by Great Nonprofits will recognize the top-rated Jewish nonprofits with its 2009 Jewish Choice Awards.

In the month of October, the small, medium and large organizations with the most positive reviews will be featured on Great Nonprofits, a site with user-generated reviews of nonprofits, and Guidestar, which publishes philanthropic news and research.

The Jewish Choice Awards was launched in partnership with the Jewish Funders Network, JTA, Natan, Slingshot Fund, Upstart Bay Area and Jewish Jumpstart.

Clients, donors, volunteers and board members are asked to write reviews of Jewish nonprofits with which they are associated. Nonprofits with the most positive reviews in their category will be announced as winners and receive promotion on GuideStar.org.

The deadline for nominations is Oct. 31. Anyone who writes a review is eligible to win prizes, such as a signed copy of Noah Alper’s new book “Business Mensch,” free Noah’s Bagels and a stay at a Kimpton hotel.
