Fundraising drive launched to aid survivors Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | October 16, 2009 Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the East Bay has launched a fundraising effort to expand aid to local Holocaust survivors struggling with illness, poverty and isolation. The goal is to raise $100,000 by Dec. 31. The JFCS appeal was sparked in part by j.’s Oct. 2 cover story, “Hardship after the Holocaust,” which described the uphill battle social service agencies such as JFCS face in assisting indigent Holocaust survivors in the region.
