JFCS looking for volunteers in Marin Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | November 6, 2009 Jewish Family and Children’s Service is looking for volunteers to help Marin seniors and disabled adults continue to live independently. Volunteers are needed for the JFCS’ Senior Companionship Program, Be the Wheels and Special Delivery. Senior Companionship pairs volunteers with a senior who is homebound, lives alone and wants company. Volunteers visit their match weekly. Be the Wheels has volunteers drive a senior to medical appointments, the grocery store or other destinations. For information on either program, contact Betty Hirschfeld at (415) 419-3661 or [email protected] Special Delivery offers grocery-shopping assistance to homebound seniors, disabled adults and people recovering from illness or surgery. Volunteers pick up and deliver pre-paid grocery orders — and spend a little time with those for whom they shop. For more information, contact Lorraine Harris at [email protected] or (415) 419-3635.
