Stuart Davis of Cherry Hill, N.J., was the winner last week in the fifth annual Man-O-Manischewitz Cook-Off competition, held at the JCC in Manhattan, N.Y. Chef Jacques Pepin was a celebrity judge. Davis won the live competition with his recipe for Chicken and Egg Donburi — which is not kosher for Passover. Manischewitz received thousands of entries, each incorporating a Manischewitz product into the preparation. In the finals on March 31, Davis beat out Jeanette Nelson of Sophia, W.Va. (Golden Sweet Potato Tagine); Dina Burcat of Baltimore (Shallot Smothered Chicken); Suzanne Banfield of Basking Ridge, N.J. (Simple Fisherman’s Stew); and Naylet LaRochelle of Miami (Moroccan Chicken Bowl). To view Davis’ recipe, visit www.manischewitz.com. J. Correspondent Also On J.
