Under an agreement reached Feb. 12 between the Histadrut and Israel’s Finance Ministry, contract workers will receive a minimum monthly wage and other benefits. The strike launched Feb. 8 by the Histadrut, Israel’s main labor union, was undertaken in support of providing contract workers with benefits. It had closed down the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, stopped trains across the country and caused major delays at Ben Gurion Airport.
