Correspondent | July 12, 2013 “The Destruction of the Jewish Temple” by Francesco Hayez Mourning the Temple The Yeashore Community is bringing together a dozen Jewish organizations, including eight synagogues, in honor of Tisha B’Av, which commemorates the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. Considered the saddest day on the Jewish calendar, the event will begin with a dairy potluck, followed by teachings from congregational leaders and concluding with a candlelighting ceremony to recall the destruction of the Temples and other tragedies in Jewish history. 6 p.m. Monday, July 15 at Congregation Ner Tamid, 1250 Quintara St., S.F.
