Four Israeli soldiers were injured by an explosive detonated as they patrolled the border with Lebanon.

They were taken to a hospital in northern Israel where three underwent surgery and one was admitted to the intensive care unit.

Lebanese media said the Aug. 7 explosion occurred inside Lebanon, and that the soldiers had crossed the border. The Israel Defense Forces maintains that the soldiers did not leave Israeli territory.

The IDF said it was continuing to investigate the incident, and would also continue to secure the northern border. — jta
