Tashlich, San Francisco-style

Piping sins to the sea. Rebooting an old tradition, “Ctrl+Alt+Del: Tashlique at Ocean Beach” ups the volume on a time-honored Rosh Hashanah ritual. Led by bagpipers and shofar blowers, plus members of the Jazz Mafia and the Ministers of Sound, participants bring stale bread to cast sins symbolically into the ocean. S’mores and Rocky’s Fry Bread conclude the event with a taste of sweetness. Sponsored by JCCSF, Reboot and the Jewish Community Federation.
