The June 1 article “Local émigrés help HIAS tell its many stories” incorrectly stated that Sergey Brin wrote an essay in the New York Times titled “Were it not for HIAS, there might be no Google.” That was actually the first sentence of a N.Y. Times piece about Brin, who co-founded Google, making a $1 million donation to HIAS.
