Secretary of State John Kerry will be in Israel and the Palestinian territories for the third time in his bid to revive the peace process.
“These meetings are to follow up on ongoing discussions as we continue to assess how best we can support the parties in getting back to the table and in having dialogue leading to peace,” said a State Department statement released May 17.
“We remain committed to working with the parties to achieve a lasting peace through direct negotiations,” it said.
Kerry was to visit Jerusalem May 23-24. This is his third trip to the region since he became secretary of state in February.
Kerry has said reviving the talks is a priority for the Obama administration. — jta
