The facility — a combination high school, post graduate school and adult learning center — serves the world’s fourth largest Jewish population. Currently 600 students are enrolled. The renovation will allow for another 200 students.
Honorees include:
*Maud and Serge Berguig of Marin. Serge Berguig graduated from the Montreuil school.
*Barbara and Robert Morrison of Piedmont. Barbara Morrison has been running the Clothesport Consignment shop in Oakland for many years. She has served on the board of previous Bay Area ORT fund-raisers.
*Bobi and Raymond Levine of San Jose. Bobi Levine is a former president of the South Bay Region ORT chapter and a career teacher.
*Marilyn Rosekind of Foster City. She’s been a member since 1957 and is a past president of Northern Peninsula Region ORT. She also was voted Woman of the Year by the Panorama chapter, and she was chair of many fund-raising and educational events.
*Dorothy Spiegelman of San Francisco. She is one of the founders of the San Francisco chapter and the originator of the San Francisco ORT party.
In addition, Janet and Albert Schultz will receive special honors as major benefactors. They have provided support to the language laboratory at the Montreuil school.
Providing musical entertainment during the event will be Peter de Bono and his orchestra and mezzo-sopranos Sylvie Braitman and Maxine Litwak.
