The Contra Costa Jewish Community Center is set to launch the annual speaker series “Dialogues.” Funded by a grant from the Koret Foundation, Dialogues this year includes everything from jazz to Israeli cuisine.
With Rabbi Harold Robinson inaugurating the series this year on Tuesday, Jan. 26, upcoming speakers include:
Lecturer, social scientist and author of “Sixty on Up” Lillian Rubin, who will discuss aging in America on Feb. 11.
NPR Jerusalem correspondent Linda Gradstein appears March 23, with a lecture titled “Covering Israel: A Jewish Journalist’s Prospective.”
Author and Israeli food personality Janna Gur will speak April 27 on the subject of Tel Aviv and 100 years of Israeli culinary history.
Renowned jazz saxophonist and educator Pete Yellin will perform and share “Jazzed Up! The Changing Face of Jazz” May 26.
