Local environmental educator Michal Lenchner will incorporate lessons on “going green” and hands-on activities into six weeks of Camp Gan Israel of Silicon Valley on Mondays and Tuesdays, beginning Monday, June 21 and running through July 27.

Campers in first through fifth grades will learn about renewable energy, solar and wind power, the meaning and benefits of “going green,” carbon emissions and the greenhouse gas effect, waste management and more.

The kids also will make art projects using recycled materials, including toy cars constructed with wine corks, and spin tops made from old CDs, marbles and bottle caps.
