An exhibit of photographs and multimedia images that brings together stories, memories and images of the Los Angeles Jewish Home is currently on display in celebration of the Home’s centennial.
Founded in 1912, the Los Angeles Jewish Home is the largest single-source provider of senior housing in Los Angeles. In total, the Home annually serves more than 2,300 seniors with a continuum of services. In addition, about 1,300 seniors are served through the Home’s community-based programs, which includes Skirball Hospice, Jewish Home Center for Palliative Medicine and community clinics.
Additional 100-year celebration activities and events include special seders at Passover, a “Senior” prom in the spring and a “Fifth Commandment Shabbaton” to help raise awareness of the importance of showing honor and respect to elders.
The gallery installation is open for limited public viewing, and tours are available by appointment. For more information, call Bonnie Polishuk at (818) 757-4407 or Kathy Gutstein at (818) 757-4460.
