Sharon Anolik and Orr Shakked were married Aug. 10 in the gardens at the bride’s parents’ home in Tiburon. Rabbis Sydney Mintz of Congregation Emanu-El and David White of Mill Valley officiated.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree in politics from U.C. Santa Cruz and a juris doctor from Golden Gate University, where she is also an adjunct professor of law. She is associate general counsel and chief privacy officer for Ask Jeeves, Inc. She is the daughter of Yami and Alexander Anolik of Tiburon and the sister of Daniel (and Lyssa) Anolik of Portland, Ore., and Adam Anolik of San Francisco. Grandparents are the late Cecelia and Morris Anolik, and Sima and Matityahu Kalir.

The groom graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and statistics from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and received a master’s degree in information management and systems from U.C. Berkeley. He is a technology consultant. He is the son of Moriela and Jacob Shaked of Herzliya, Israel, and the brother of Paz Shakked of Milan, Italy. Grandparents are Nechama and Ya’aqov Ben-Sar of Herzliya, and the late Rivka and Dov Mendel.

Maids of honor were Florence Landau and Sally Laviolette. Best man was Jason Gilbert. Bridesmaids were Paz Shakked, Lyssa Tall Anolik and Rose Buyck Newton. Groomsmen were Daniel Anolik, Adam Anolik, Moshi Berenstein and Jonathan Dotan.

After a honeymoon in Tahiti, the newlyweds are living in Oakland’s Montclair District.

Shana Raquel Cohen and Joshua Meir Caplan were married June 22 at the Kohl Mansion in Burlingame. Rabbi Elijah Schochet of Los Angeles officiated. Rabbi Judah Dardik also participated in the ceremony.

The bride graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara and is completing her master’s in special education at San Francisco State University. She works with autistic children at Behavioral Intervention Association. She is the daughter of Maria and Sam Cohen of Piedmont. Grandparents are Aida and Gerardo Cordova of Alameda, Edith Cohen of San Mateo and the late Aron Cohen.

The groom graduated from U.C. San Diego and is attending Hastings College of the Law. He is the son of Tina Caplan Weiss and Murray Weiss of Woodland Hills and the late Barry Caplan. Grandparents are Marilyn Matty of Chatsworth and Lisa Weiss of Del Rey Beach, Fla.

Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Aliza Cohen. Best man was Rabbi Micah Caplan. Bridesmaids were Ilana Friedkin, Rachael Dottery, Jennifer Cordova and Meredith Schneider. Groomsmen were Daniel Cohen, Jeremiah Weiss, Eric Grosman and Josh Nathan. The chuppah was made by the bride’s mother.

Shana and Josh met as counselors at Camp Ramah in Ojai, which they both attended since they were kids. After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the newlyweds are living in Berkeley.

Anne Gyemant and Michael Paris were married Aug. 31 at B.R. Cohn Winery in Glen Ellen. Cantor Martin Feldman officiated.

The bride received a degree in development studies from U.C. Berkeley and a law degree from Hastings College of the Law. She is director of the nonprofit Break the Cycle, overseeing dating violence education and legal services to teens in San Francisco. She is the daughter of Judge Ina Levin Gyemant and Dr. Leonard Shlain of Mill Valley and Robert and Sally Gyemant of Dallas.

The groom received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering from Tulane University. He is a senior clinical engineer at St. Jude Medical, where he develops the next generation of pacemakers and defibrillators. He is the son of Marilyn and Richard Paris of Yardley, Pa.

Bridesmaids were Carrletta Price, Suzanne Ware, Danielle Dietz, Carrie Metz and Amy Nelder. Ushers were Gregg Paris, Roberto Gyemant, Tim Ciciarelli, Ilya Entin and Rich Carvajal.

Anne and Michael met in December 2001 at a Chanukah party in San Francisco and were engaged on Valentine’s Day 2003. After a honeymoon in Italy and France, the newlyweds are living in San Francisco.

Meredith Toll and Stephen Abramowitz were married July 20 at Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, Mass. Rabbi Daniel Lee Kaplan officiated.

The bride received a master of science in speech-language pathology from San Francisco State University and is a speech-language pathologist. She is the daughter of Ann and Robert Toll of Plainville, Mass., and the sister of Amy (and George) Bono of North Attleboro, Mass. Grandparents are Betty Buyer of Needham, Mass., and the late Alfred Baier, and Beverly (and David) Plaskov of Pompano Beach, Fla., and the late Morris Toll.

The groom received a bachelor of arts in communications from U.C. San Diego and is a radio account executive. He is the son of Lilyan and Irving Abramowitz of San Francisco, and the brother of Allison Kent Weiss (and Paul Weiss) of Oakland. Grandparents are the late Anna and Philip Abramowitz, and Adele and Sigmund Rader.

Matron of honor was Amy Bono. Best man was Paul Weiss. Bridesmaids were Allison Kent Weiss, Cindi Baldi and Randy Shostak. Junior bridesmaids were Julie Buyer, Michelle Buyer and Naomi Weiss. Groomsmen were George Bono, Christian du Lac, Chesley Chen and Marc Engel. Junior groomsmen were Marc Smith, Eric Smith and Jeremy Weiss.

The groom surprised the bride by performing “The Way You Look Tonight,” one of the couple’s favorite songs, with the band at the reception.

After a honeymoon in Spain, the newlyweds are living in San Francisco.

Allison Jacobs and Ron Abta were married June 8 at StoneTree Golf Club in Novato. Rabbi Allen Bennett of Temple Israel in Alameda officiated.

The bride received a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of San Francisco. She is a registered nurse at Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkeley. She is the daughter of Judy and Walter Jacobs of San Francisco, and the sister of Steven Jacobs of New York, Elisa Nixon of Pasadena and Lauren Gaspari of Ardmore, Pa. Grandparents are Josie Schwartz of Alameda and the late Dr. Melvin Schwartz, and Mona and Samuel Jacobs.

The groom received a bachelor’s degree in economics from U.C. Berkeley and his MBA from Stanford University. He is the COO at Shane-Michael Optical Co. in San Francisco. He is the son of Nitza Derfner of San Jose and Daniel Abta of Sunnyvale, and the brother of Orly Abta of San Jose. Grandparents are the late Rachel and Mayer Abta, and Rachel and Arieh Derfner.

Maid of honor was Diana Montes. Best man was Jeremy Gruber. Bridesmaids were Shauna Jacobs, Elisa Nixon, Lauren Gaspari, Yael Fagin and Orly Abta. Ushers were Mitch Brown, Steve Anderson, John Terborgh, Steven Jacobs, Adrian Jones and David Teitelbaum.

Allison and Ron met on jdate.com. They e-mailed back and forth for a month before going on their first date, where Allison challenged Ron to an arm-wrestling match at the dinner table. Nine months later, Ron proposed to Allison in a Napa vineyard.

After a honeymoon in Tahiti, the newlyweds are living in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco.
