Celebrating Chanukah on the road? In a dorm or apartment that doesn’t allow candles? If you’re an iPhone or iPod Touch user, there’s a new solution: a downloadable application called Mobile Menorah.
Put out by the company LilBros, Mobile Menorah uses the iPhone’s touchscreen technology to allow users to light a virtual shamash with their finger, then drag the candle to light the others. The candles will then appear to burn down over the course of the night — as slowly or quickly as you want, using the program’s “burn rate” setting.
The program retails for $1.99, and a portion of each sale will go to planting trees in Israel. Mobile Menorah can be purchased at the iTunes App Store by searching for “mobile menorah,” or by following the download link at www.mobile menorah.com.
