Several prominent Jews appear on Forbes’ list of the world’s most powerful people.
Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve, was ranked at No. 8; Larry Page and Sergey Brin, co-founders of Google, shared the No. 22 spot; New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg came in at No. 23; and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came in at 24.
The list had 68 names. Chinese President Hu Jintao, who was No. 2 last year moved to No. 1. President Barack Obama was second after getting the top spot last year. Osama bin Laden was No. 57. Other Jewish businessmen include Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, ranked No. 40, and Lloyd Blankfein, CEO of Goldman Sachs, at No. 42. — jta
