The Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary with an opening evening of music and film at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at the De Anza College Visual and Performing Arts Center.

Andy Santana, Rusty Zinn and others will play music highlighting the Chicago-style blues heard in “Who Do You Love?” A screening of the film, which tells the story of Chess Records — a record label founded by Jewish immigrants from Poland  — will follow.

The evening also will feature a reception honoring the film festival’s founders, Fagie Rosen and Burt Epstein, longtime supporters Ken and Gloria Levy, and Camera Theaters CEO Jack NyBlom.

The festival, which runs through Nov. 20 at four venues, will feature films from around the world, including “Killing Kasztner: The Jew Who Dealt with Nazis,” “Amos Oz: The Nature of Dreams,” “A Matter of Size,” “Article of Hope” and “Precious Life,” the winner of the 2010 Israeli Academy Award for best documentary. Panel discussions, Q&As with the filmmakers and interactive activities follow most of the screenings.

The Visual and Performing Arts Center is located at 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd. in Cupertino. For a complete list of films and events or for tickets, visit www.svjff.org.
