Correspondent | March 23, 2012 Temple Shalom of Dallas was named winner of the first turkey chili competition at the Kosher Chili Cook-Off, a new category in the annual event. More than 4,500 chili fans attended the competition March 18 at Tiferet Israel in Dallas. As always, the event featured meat and vegetarian categories, but turkey donated by Empire Kosher Poultry was added to the mix as the cookoff celebrated its 19th anniversary. Moishe House Dallas won in the beef category. Congregation Anshai Torah in Plano took home the crown for vegetarian chili. The People’s Choice Award went to the Ann and Nate Levine Academy.
