Event to tackle local opinions on Zionism

The World Zionist Organization is holding a gathering in San Francisco next week for educators and others to “discuss, criticize, support or oppose issues concerning Israel and Zionism,” according to the event flier.

The event on Wednesday, Aug. 8 begins with breakfast at 8:45 a.m. and continues until an optional lunch at noon Free and open to the public, the workshops and discussions will be held at the WZO office at 1333 Balboa St., Suite 2.

WZO officials are expecting at least 50 people, a range of Jewish communal professionals and lay leaders from various religious streams and political affiliations, to gather and discuss issues related to Israel and Zionism in the community. A limited number of free educational tool kits will be available, with teachers getting priority.
