Litquake, the expansive San Francisco literary festival, is migrating south this summer — to the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto. An Aug. 26 “mini-festival” will be held from 3 to 8 p.m., where bookworms of all stripes can listen to 35 authors at eight salon-style literary panels. Topics will range from memoir to technology, from romance to writing from a Jewish perspective; also on tap are readings for sandbox-age literati. A grownups-only “Blues, Booze & Schmooze” party follows the panels, and the festival closes with “An Evening of Jewish Humor” with Michael Krasny. Don’t forget to bring a children’s book for the Jewish Coalition for Literacy.
