Challah happy hour

The end of the workweek, before Shabbat begins, offers an excellent window of opportunity to kick back and shmooze. Chabad of San Francisco is seizing this opportunity with its new SoMa Shul Happy Hour, held the last Friday of every month. Drinks, hors d’oeuvres and challah are all on the house, and live music from Michael Estrin keeps the energy level high. Following the happy hour, stick around for services at 7 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner. Free drinks, good company, challah … is it Friday yet?

5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at S.F. School of Digital Filmmaking, 925 Mission St., Suite 108, S.F. Happy hour and services free, dinner $20. Also Aug. 25. Morning services followed by lunch. 9:45 a.m. Lunch $20 suggested. www.chabadsf.org
