Marvin Soroken

May 7, 1932–Sept. 1, 2017

Marvin (Papa) Soroken died peacefully with his family by his side.

Marvin was born in Los Angeles to Julia and Arthur Soroken. A graduate of San Francisco State and veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked in advertising and marketing with Pillsbury and then with Process Displays. He loved collecting, buying and trading antique cars and motorcycles and at one time had an array of Indian motorcycles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Geri Greenberg Soroken; daughters Stephanie, Jacki and Sheila; brothers Stanley and Josef; and sisters Marsha, Edith and Ethel. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Sarah, Arthur, Wesley, Joel, Amanda and Jacob, and sons-in-law Rick and Scott. Also by his German Shepherd dog, Sasha.

Contributions may be made to Golden State German Shepherd Rescue.

Graveside services were held Sept. 11, 2017 at the National Veterans Cemetery in Dixon, California. There was a gathering at the Rio Vista Veterans Hall.


Rowena Wolff

It is with much sadness that we announce that our mother, Rowena Wolff, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the age of 92. She is survived by her loving children, Sandi Wolff, Marsha and Steve Seidman, her grandchildren, Kim Chase, Todd and Ali Seidman, Bradd and Shana Seidman, her great-grandchildren, Ben Chase, Evan, Lilah, Logan and Hailey Seidman, and her sister-in-law Tootsie Veprin.

Rowena was a native San Franciscan, where she lived with her loving husband Herb Wolff (deceased), her mother Anna Veprin (deceased), brother Billy Veprin (deceased) and a large extended family with many aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be deeply missed.
