Staff | November 17, 2017 The S.F.-based Jim Joseph Foundation has approved a $1.1 million grant to the Yiddish Book Center, earmarked for Jewish educator professional development. The grant supports the YBC’s Great Jewish Books program, training teachers of modern Jewish literature and culture at the secondary school level and beyond, while developing textual, audio and visual materials to support those teachers. The Great Jewish Books program will also offer an extended month-long summer seminar, a conference and development of the program’s website of teaching resources. The grant is part of the Jim Joseph Foundation’s $23.7 million investment in 21 organizations, with the goal of addressing educator professional development and leadership development. These investments will allow more than 500 Jewish educators to receive intensive training development over the next four years. J. Staff Also On J.
