Births

Walter Ellis Blum (Wally) arrived happy and healthy Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. He is the first born child of Melissa and Jeff Blum of Brooklyn, New York.

Maternal grandparents are Patty and Edward Kondak of East Marian, New York; paternal grandparents are Gayle and Michael Blum of Belvedere in Marin County. Great-grandparents are Ginny and Roger Grattan of Greenport, New York. Wally is the nephew of Debby and Evin Gelleri of San Francisco and Steve and Nick Kondak of East Marian, New York.

Miriam Hazel Shak was born on March 16, 2018 at 12:57 a.m. at UCSF Mission Bay Hospital to her first-time parents Emma and Joshua Shak of San Francisco. Weighing in at 8 lbs. 6 oz. and measuring 21 inches long, she is also bringing joy and “nachas” to her first-time grandparents, Gail and Steven Shak of Hillsborough and Debbie Irvine and Jay Johns of Austin, Texas. She is named after Gail’s mother, Miriam Messinger z”l, and Debbie’s grandmother Hazel Mangels z”l.

Weddings

Lara Karin Kraus and Daniel Citron were married at the Estancia Hotel in La Jolla, California, on March 25. Karin is the daughter of Sue Kraus of Alpine, California. Daniel is the son of Dvora and Eric Citron of Orinda and the grandson of Rosalind Citron of Fremont and Lorraine and Robert Sasner of Walnut Creek. Karin and Daniel met as freshmen at San Diego State University. Karin works as a registered dental hygienist, and Daniel is completing his third year at UCLA School of Dentistry, after which he will serve in the U.S. Air Force.
