Chef Arnon Oren, owner of Anaviv Catering and Events as well as Oren’s Kitchen, has appeared twice in this column, once for his flavored nut company — which he has since sold — and again for his “Plant to Plate” program, which teaches Richmond teens cooking and life skills. Now the Israeli-born, French-trained chef has launched an intimate dinner party–like experience called Anaviv’s Table, staging it at his catering kitchen in Richmond. He has teamed up with another chef, Ed Vigil, to offer a five-course farm-to-table dinner with wine pairings, served at a communal 10-diner table. Anaviv’s Table is $125 per person, including service, Thursday through Saturday. There is one set menu per week and dietary restrictions are taken into account. Reservations can be made at anaviv.com/table. Solomon’s Delicatessen in Davis and soon Sacramento is the first Jewish deli in the nation to become certified by Eat REAL.
