The Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco offers free admission on the first Tuesday of each month, with the next free day falling on Tuesday, Aug. 7.
The museum began Free First Tuesdays in October 2011, and even though the program isn’t heavily publicized, average attendance on those days has been between 500 and 600 visitors, museum officials said, more than double the average attendance of 200 on regular Tuesdays.
A free film screening is part of the next two Free First Tuesdays, with “The Big Lebowski” showing at 2 p.m. Aug. 7 and “Crossing Delancey” at 2 p.m. Sept. 4. The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays.
Free First Tuesdays is made possible by a grant from the Alexander M. & June L. Maisin Foundation of the Jewish Community Federation Endowment Fund. For more information, call the museum at (415) 655-7800 or email [email protected].
