Heritage night
With this year’s Aug. 14 San Francisco Giants’ Jewish Heritage night around the corner, you’ll need to dig up your old baseball glove and Giants cap — and this year you’ll also need to find a hairclip. That’s because this year’s giveaway item is a Giants’ kippah (pictured) and you wouldn’t want to let the wind — or one of the park’s infamous seagulls — take it away. Before the 7:15 p.m. first pitch against the Washington Nationals the Giants will host a pregame party with Chabad of San Francisco at Seals Plaza near the center-field gate. Chabad will also put on a “pregame warm-up” with kosher hot dogs and beer at 1 p.m. With the division race heating up, this should be a great night to kvell over the tribe and the Giants.
Game at 7:15 p.m., Giants’ pregame party at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14 at AT&T Park, 24 Willie Mays Plaza, S.F. $18.25-$108.25. www.sfgiants.com. Also Chabad S.F. “pregame warm-up” at 1 p.m. at the Hub SoMa, 925 Mission St., S.F. Free. www.chabadsf.org.
