Jacqueline Mayeri
1962–2013
Cherished wife, mother, friend, community member Jacqueline Mayeri passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, California.
She was born to Aghdas (Nassi) Mayeri and Ben Mayeri in October 1962 in Isfahan, Persia. A profound thinker, with a thirst for knowledge, Jacqueline studied Physics at S.F. State, earning her Bachelor’s and much of her Master’s Degree before switching to a Master’s of Fine Arts in Advertising and Creative Direction, completed at the Academy of Art College in 2001. She met and married the love of her life, Gregg Jackson, in June of 2002. Their family became complete in 2004 with the birth of their daughter, Basia June, the greatest joy and love of their life.
Jacqueline was a deeply spiritual, loving and giving person, generous with her time. She volunteered at her daughter’s school, Brandeis Hillel Day School in S.F., and would cook and deliver meals to friends, family and neighbors in need. She was an active member in her temple, Congregation B’nai Emunah, sang in their choir and volunteered as a Sunday school teacher. Her voice, teachings and presence inspired, soothed and positively moved anyone who heard her. She also loved to paint and write poetry and short stories, and especially to cook healthy versions of Persian and other food types.
Her unique ability to see the positive in any situation along with her radiant smile lifted the spirits of those around her.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband and daughter, Gregg A. and Basia June Jackson of San Francisco. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Mayeri, sister Rosy Djavaheri, both in S.F., Shirley Sassoon in Arlington, Texas, and Juliet Abselet in Los Angeles.
She will be deeply missed, always loved, and forever in our hearts.

Phillip Woolfe
Feb. 28, 1919–Sept. 10, 2013
With deep sadness we announce the passing of Phillip in San Francisco with his loving wife and daughter at his side. He was the son of Barnett and Nettie Hester Woolfe, and the brother of the late Joseph Mordecai Woolfe. Phillip was a lifelong San Franciscan attending Polytechnic High, but graduating from Hayward High before returning to San Francisco, the city he loved. A World War II vet serving under General Patton in the 3rd Army, 7th Division Infantry, he received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in Sicily.
Phillip was the epitome of an English gentleman: kind, gentle and loving. His family was his whole life. He liked football, baseball, golf and playing chess. He was a world traveler who enjoyed many trips abroad. He was a member of Temple Emanu-El for over 60 years.
Besides his cherished wife, Francine, and his adoring daughter, Michele Avramov, he leaves behind his niece Denise Webb (Bob), nephew Philip Liebert and great-niece and nephew Katie and Daniel Webb. Our special thanks to his devoted caregivers Wilma, Cristina, Stephanie and Tracey. He will be missed and forever in our hearts. Private services were held.
