Nate Freiman of the Oakland A’s is in danger of not being included on the team’s postseason roster due to an abdominal strain he has had since mid-September.

The 6-foot-8 rookie, who played for Team Israel in a qualifying round of the World Baseball Classic last year, was batting .275 with four homers and 24 RBIs through Sept. 24. A right-handed batter who platoons at first base, he has played in half of Oakland’s games, but because of his injury, he couldn’t even take batting practice earlier this week.

The American League West champion A’s will finish the regular season on Sunday, Sept. 29, and begin the playoffs five days later.
