The Business Leadership Council of the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation is focusing on Israel’s economic success at two October events, but with a twist: Has that success affected how Israel’s leaders view international relations? Does the “startup nation” have an inflated sense of its own power? Or is the financial acumen translating into positive political confidence?
Daniel Frankenstein, co-founder and managing partner of Janvest Technologies, will moderate a panel of experts including Ran Reske, senior associate at Norwest Venture Partners; Steven Schoenfeld, founder and chief investment officer of BlueStar Indexes; and Gil Ovadia, head of the economic and trade mission at the Israeli Consulate in San Francisco.
The program takes place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 at the offices of Morrison Foerster, 425 Market St., S.F., and 8 a.m. Oct. 11 at the Oshman Family JCC, 3921 Fabian Way, PaloAlto. Tickets are $18 to $65. Register at www.jewishfed.org/event/blc-panel-israel-s-economic-success.
