Finding the courage. In the French drama “Monsieur Batignole,” Edmond Batignole (Gérard Jugnot) is an apolitical grocer in Nazi-occupied France when he helps hide a young Jewish boy and his two cousins from his future son-in-law, the German collaborator Pierre-Jean Lamour (Jean-Paul Rouve). The group is forced to travel to Switzerland after Lamour discovers them.
