A new support group for those mourning the loss of a loved one will begin Sept. 9 in Palo Alto.

Offered by S.F.-based Jewish Family and Children’s Services and facilitated by professional grief counselors, sessions are designed to help participants with healing after the death of a loved one. The emotional, spiritual and psychological aspects of the grieving process will be explored in a safe and supportive environment.

The group is suitable for anyone has suffered a loss — regardless of age, faith or relation to the loved one who died.

Sessions meet Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. over eight weeks, beginning Sept. 9 at the JFCS Koret Family Resource Center, 200 Channing Ave., Palo Alto. For more information call  (415) 449-3777 or email [email protected].
