Marc Shanker’s “De Tu Patada, Veremos Hayre” (“From your Foosteps, We Shall See Good Fortune”)

Mark Shanker’s “Traces of Sepharad” is a whimsical series of etchings of Judeo-Spanish proverbs that illuminate the world of medieval Sephardic wisdom and culture. At a Jan. 26 reception, the artist will discuss his Sephardic upbringing and discuss his work’s themes of exile, adaptation and identity.
