The Jewish Community Relations Council will honor three Bay Area Jewish activists at its annual “Behind the Scenes” gala fundraiser. The Feb. 16 event takes place at San Francisco’s War Memorial Veterans Building.
This year, JCRC honors former California State Senator Mark Leno with its Jewish-Civic Leadership Award; Laura Talmus and Ace Smith will be given the JCRC Courageous Leadership Award for their civic engagement over the years.
Proceeds from the event go to JCRC’s education and advocacy work in the realms of social justice and a secure Jewish future.
