The San Francisco-based Jim Joseph Foundation is making $23.7 million in grants to 21 organizations to address two areas in Jewish education: educator professional development and leadership development.
The grants, which will cover initiatives over the next few years, include nearly $16.7 million for professional development. The foundation envisions these 10 grants will support more than 500 Jewish educators.
The leadership development grants will include training funds for social justice leadership and early childhood education and youth leadership.
“We are excited to move forward with these cohorts in educator training and leadership development — two areas that the foundation views as critical to creating excellent Jewish education,” said Barry Finestone, the foundation’s president and CEO.
