Celebrating 100 years, Camp Tawonga has remained committed to “immersing children in community building, Jewish values and nature to help them become their best selves and go on to make the world a better place.” The camp offers overnight summer programs, weekend programs and year-round programs, including Family Camp, winter teen retreats and a b*mitzvah program.

Maccabi Sports Camp

Founded in 2014, this first Jewish overnight camp on the West Coast “for kids who love sports” combines high-level instruction in core sports such as basketball, soccer, tennis and baseball with Shabbat and holiday celebrations. Shorter sessions are offered for the youngest campers.

Day and overnight camps for incoming transitional kindergarten through 10th-grade students are available through the OFJCC, which build “a spirited community where campers are immersed in joyful camp activities and develop meaningful relationships with others while engaging in individual personal growth.” Camps held during school breaks also are available.

Offering summer and year-round programs, Reform movement-affiliated Camp Newman “lives by the value of B’tzelem Elohim, which reminds us that each of us is created in the image of God, meaning that each person at camp has a specific set of needs, wants, feelings, hopes, and dreams.” Founded in 1947, the camp works to build “a community of acceptance.”
