Oprah Winfrey has chosen Elie Wiesel’s “Night” as the 55th selection for her book club.

The talk-show host turned media maven said she hoped “the powerful message of this little book would be engraved on every human heart and will never be forgotten again. I get courage from his courage.”

“Night” is Wiesel’s account of the horrors he witnessed as a teenager at Auschwitz during the Holocaust. The 120-page edition chosen by Oprah is the new translation from Wiesel’s wife, Marion.
