Numerous gatherings to show solidarity with Israel will take place around the Bay Area next week.
The largest will be held at noon Sunday, July 23 at Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco, sponsored by the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation. Information: (415) 777-0411.
The South Bay/Peninsula will host two solidarity events. The first is at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 24 at Congregation Beth Am, 26790 Arastradero Road, Los Altos Hills, and the second at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 25 at Peninsula Temple Beth El, 1700 Alameda de las Pulgas, San Mateo. Both will feature Deputy Consul General of Israel Omer Caspi, and will include a listing of ways for people to get involved. Both gatherings are sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council. There will be two solidarity events in the East Bay as well, with the first scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 26 at Temple Sinai, 2808 Summit St., Oakland, and the second at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27 at Temple Isaiah, 3800 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette. Each will feature Caspi, music, and first-hand accounts from Jewish community leaders who have recently returned from Israel.
