An estimated 7,500 people attended a pro-Israel rally Sunday, July 23, in London. Israel’s ambassador to the UK, Zvi Heifetz, was in attendance.
The event was partly a response to the 11 anti-Israeli rallies that occurred in the UK on Saturday.
On Monday, July 24, two demonstrations occurred in Ukraine in support of Israel. An estimated 2,000 people showed their support of Israel at a rally in Kiev, attended by Israeli Ambassador Naomi Ben-Ami, the chief rabbis of Ukraine, and Jewish and Christian leaders.
The second rally was in the city of Dnepropetrovsk and was attended by some 1,500.
On Sunday a pro-Israel rally in Moscow drew only about 50 people. Some Jewish participants accused Russian Jewish groups of being unwilling to publicly show support for Israel.
In addition, rallies were held earlier this week in Berlin and Paris amidst counter-demonstrations.
