Rabbi David Wolpe, named America’s No. 1 rabbi by Newsweek last year, will speak and join an interfaith panel discussion at the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael.

The discussion, “Why Faith Matters,” is named for Wolpe’s latest book. The event takes place 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Wolpe has written several books, with his latest describing his recent battle with a brain tumor. He also serves as senior rabbi at Temple Sinai in Los Angeles.

The event is co-sponsored by Congregation Kol Shofar in association with Congregation Rodef Sholom and the Marin Interfaith Council. Tickets: $12-$15. For more information, call (415) 444-8000 or visit www.marinjcc.org.
